PalletWatch Sign on Glass

What problem does it solve?

Many companies experience a high number of rejections/corrections of their transfer off dockets.  This is usually caused by their pallet off transfer dockets getting lost either by the carrier or by the receiver.

These missing dockets are either rejected without warning or the other party requests you to send a copy of the signed pallet docket.  Some senders have difficulty finding a signed copy and this can result in the transfer not being accepted.  Pallets can be lost or if the transfer is accepted it may not be at the original transfer date and thus pallet hire costs are higher than they should be.

In addition to the risk of lost pallets and increased hire charges the process of resolving these missing transfers is very time consuming for all involved.  There can be emails going backwards and forwards for months after the pallets were despatched.  In the meantime hire charges continue to be applied to the sender’s pallet account.

Who is it for?

There are different versions of PalletWatch’s Sign on Glass.  The site version is described below.  It is designed for sites, such as 3PLs, manufacturers, wholesalers, distribution centres, retail stores, etc.

More information on the carrier version will be provided shortly.

What is it for?

It is ideally suited for despatched equipment using PalletWatch’s transfer offs or non hire move offs.

What equipment do you need?

The best option is to use a tablet.  Other mobile devices such as mobile phones or your own mobile terminals can also be used.

How does it work?

  • Ideally a transfer off docket is created on a desktop computer although it could also be created on a mobile device.
  • When the pallets are ready to be despatched your despatch staff would log in to PalletWatch on a table and search for the docket.
  • Once the docket has been found despatch staff would edit the docket and click on the Sign button.
  • A box would appear showing:
    – The email addresses of the trading partner’s pallet controller and your pallet controller.
    – A signature box lets the driver sign on the tablet.
    – The driver would type in his/her name.
    – Your despatch person would click on the Send button and a copy of the signed pallet docket is emailed to both pallet controllers.
  • A copy of the signed pallet docket is also automatically attached to the docket in PalletWatch.

How much does it cost?

The monthly cost is $50 plus GST per account.  This is less than the compensation value of one CHEP pallet.  There should be significant savings in lost pallets, hire charges and labour costs.

Charges for high volume accounts are subject to negotiation
